First course: week charter You already know the sensations of sailing; the vocabulary used on board is no longuer mysterious or incomprehensible to you. You are familiar with manoeuvers, with the rhythms of the yacht running under sails. You have joined together your crew, a group of friends or your family, and you are ready to go for the discovering of the isle of Mallorca. You will tack to turn Cala Figuera's point, admiring, while sailing, the beautiful beaches of the bay of Palma, its cliffs, its cosy coves. You will stay overnight at the friendly harbour of Andratx and you will take off next morning just after breakfast. You will sail between Dragonera and Mallorca and you will start going North along the Tramontana coast. If the weather helps, you will be able to stop for lunch at Sa Foradada Point before continuing towards the harbour of Sóller where you will stay overnight. Next morning, seven nautical miles North of the harbour of Sóller, you will discover the magnificent walls that surrounds the bay of the Torrent des Pareis, commonly known as Sa Calobra. Maybe, seduced by the amazing beauty of the place, you will decide to stay there for lunch. Then you will sail towards cape Formentor, admiring the rugged forms of the Tramontana mountains falling into the Mediterranean sea, more and more tormented as you approach the cape, until you pass it and turn pointing towards the harbour of Alcudia, where you will stay for this new night on board. When you will be back in Palma, after a stopover in Cala d'Or or Porto Cristo and another stopover in Cabrera, and you will be feeling the end of the week charter, you will be already thinking on the next holidays to sail towards new destinations, maybe a lot more daring ones! |
